The United States requested that the conflicts in the Amhara and Oromia regions be resolved through

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed with Prime Minister Abiy. Blinken praised the work being done to establish a real, credible, and inclusive transitional justice process in Ethiopia. The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that conflicts in the Amhara and Oromia regions should be resolved through peaceful and political dialogue. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that he had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed yesterday evening.




Anthony Blinken posted on X on his former Twitter social media page; He announced that he discussed security problems in the Horn of Africa with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the common goal of a united, secure, peaceful and prosperous Ethiopia. In a statement issued by the US State Department on the matter; Anthony Blinken announced to Prime Minister Abiy that he is concerned about the conflict in Oromia and Amhara region during the discussion. He also emphasized that the security problems in the two regions need to be resolved peacefully through political dialogue and an environment that respects human rights.



The US State Department announced that Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed discussed humanitarian issues that are fleeing after the resumption of humanitarian aid. They also announced that they would welcome the work being done to establish a real, credible and inclusive transitional justice process in Ethiopia.
